Walking is one of the most popular forms of exercise, mainly because it’s easy to do, costs relatively little money, and has a positive effect on general health. Hiking and Foot Pain

If you are a hiker, you probably relish in the fresh air and exercise hiking gives you. However, as with any other athletic pursuit, hiking can cause injury or discomfort to the feet. If feet are not well-soled, well-rested, or stretched and strengthened for hiking participation, foot problems can easily arise. Foot pain after hiking is typically symptomatic of a foot injury. Repetitive stress on the feet or carrying a heavy backpack while hiking can cause such injuries. Common hiking foot injuries include capsulitis or inflammation of tissues surrounding a joint. This often happens around the ball of the foot and can lead to pain and swelling. This can also affect just one toe, and if left unattended, can lead to hammertoe. Pain might alternatively be centered in the heel area and cause a heel spur and/or plantar fasciitis. My 2nd Toe Hurts

The second toe might cause pain or discomfort if it is injured, or if one suffers from a chronic condition. One such condition is called capsulitis. This can cause irritation and inflammation at the base of the second toe. One might feel swelling in the toes, have trouble putting on or wearing shoes, and have pain at the ball of the foot that worsens when walking barefoot. It may feel like one is walking on a marble or that the sock is bunched up under the foot. Commonly, capsulitis results from improper foot mechanics, with the ball of the foot withstanding excess pressure. Metatarsalgia is another condition that causes pain in the ball of the foot that may be concentrated under the second toe. This often begins as a callus on the bottom of the foot, and it can put pressure on nerves and other structures around the toe. Another cause of second toe pain is an ingrown toenail. This is when the toenail is embedded into the skin of the toe. It can make the toe sensitive to the touch and sore. 3 Parts of the Ankle

Broken Ankles
A broken ankle is experienced when a person fractures their tibia or fibula in the lower leg and ankle area. Both of these bones are attached at the bottom of the leg and combine to form what we know to be our ankle.

When a physician is referring to a break of the ankle, he or she is usually referring to a break in the area where the tibia and fibula are joined to create our ankle joint. Ankles are more prone to fractures because the ankle is an area that suffers a lot of pressure and stress. There are some obvious signs when a person experiences a fractured ankle, and the following symptoms may be present.
